Post SSRI Syndrome (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates postssrisyndrome.org. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, disclose, and protect personal information submitted through our website, including the Join the Community application.
Controller and contact
Post SSRI Syndrome is responsible for the processing described in this Policy. For privacy questions or to exercise a privacy right, please use our Contact page.
Information we collect
When you apply to join the WhatsApp community, we collect your name, WhatsApp number or username, and your confirmations that you have Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD) and have reported an adverse reaction using the MedDRA code indicated by PSSD Network. We may also receive technical information generated by the website, such as IP address, browser/device information, and information collected through cookies or similar technologies.
Information about PSSD, sexual health, and adverse reactions may be treated as sensitive or special-category personal data under applicable law.
Purposes and legal basis
We use application information only to review eligibility for the WhatsApp community, communicate about an application, protect the community from misuse, operate and secure the website, and comply with legal obligations. Where applicable law requires consent, including for sensitive personal data, we rely on your explicit consent. You may withdraw consent at any time, but this may prevent us from reviewing or continuing to process your application.
Manual review and no guarantee of access
Applications are reviewed manually by the site administrator. We do not use solely automated decision-making to decide access. Submission does not guarantee entry to the WhatsApp community.
Sharing and WhatsApp
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the website, forms, email delivery, security, analytics, and hosting, only as necessary for those services. If your application is accepted and you choose to join the WhatsApp group, your WhatsApp number, profile information, messages, and other information visible in WhatsApp may be visible to other group participants and processed by WhatsApp/Meta under its own terms and privacy policy. Do not join the group unless you are comfortable with this.
International transfers
Our service providers, including WhatsApp/Meta and web technology providers, may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Retention
We keep application data only as long as needed to review and administer the application, ordinarily no more than 12 months after a final decision, unless a longer period is required by law, necessary to resolve a dispute, or needed to protect the community. We will delete or anonymize information when it is no longer required.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. You may submit a request through our Contact page. You may also have the right to complain to the data-protection authority in your country.
Cookies and analytics
We and our service providers may use cookies and similar technologies for website functionality, security, and analytics. Where consent is required for non-essential cookies, we will request it before using them.
Security
We use reasonable organizational and technical safeguards, but no system or transmission is completely secure. Please do not send information through the website that is not necessary for your application.
Children
This application is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page with its updated date.
